Walk Across Texas!
WAT! Youth and Adult are both a free 8-week program designed to help Texans be more active using a team-based approach. Up to 8 team members work together to walk 832 miles, which is the distance across Texas. The goal is to help participants establish the habit of physical activity in a fun and motivating team approach. The only differences between the youth and adult programs are the way their mileage is reported. Youth will report their mileage to me each week and I will total the team’s mileage and log it in the online portal. Adults will create their own Howdy Health account and report their mileage directly online. We will send weekly emails to all the participants, which will have health tips and team rankings. At the end of the 8 weeks, prizes will be given to the top teams.
